“26.2 Brew,” a low-alcohol beer made to commemorate the Boston Marathon, is set to flow soon at 45 Boston-area bars and restaurants, Boston Beer Co.    (NYSE: SAM) told the Boston Business Journal, Thursday morning.

Deliveries of the limited-edition 26.2 Brew will commence as soon as Friday to the 45 Boston-area establishments (listed below).

Beers like 26.2 Brew are part of a pattern of innovating and introducing seasonal, small-batch and test products at Boston Beer Co., even as growth of flagship products like Sam Adams Light and Samuel Adams Boston Lager cools down.

Analysts credit the emphasis on new products and innovation for Boston Beer’s double-digit growth, while the rest of the beer industry has remained stagnant. Boston Beer Co. sales were up 22.7 percent, year over year, in its most recent quarter.

Williams Capital Group analyst Marc Riddick said the Samuel Adams brewer has a track record of introducing new products, which has enabled it to participate in fast growth across the craft beer segment. The Boston-based company’s new products – like 26.2 Brew, and Boston Beer’s seasonal Noble Pils, which the company recently made available year-round – are popular with craft beer consumers seeking variety, Riddick said.
