The new concept was opened in partnership with Moët Hennessy, Dubai Duty Free, Le Méridien Group and Dubai Airports.

Diageo Global Travel and Middle East (GTME), Moët Hennessy, Dubai Duty Free (DDF), Le Méridien Group and Dubai Airports have created a new luxury spirits, fine wine and champagne concept store at Dubai International airport terminal three.

The project partners invited international trade and consumer journalists to the official launch of the Emporium store at Dubai airport earlier this week. Johnnie Walker brand ambassador Jonathan Driver was on hand to give tastings of the $3,000 The John Walker whisky, and Diageo’s champion 2010 World Class bartender of the year Eric Lorincz mixed cocktails for the invited guests.

Dubai airport was chosen as the location for Emporium for its high passenger growth rate, and large number of affluent customers from emerging market economies such as China and India. Diageo GTME is keen to introduce Emporium-style outlets to other leading international hub airports.

The shop features a centrally-located cocktail bar and two retail galleries on each side, which are operated by DDF. Global luxury hotel and catering chain Le Méridien Group has provided and trained six bar staff for the new outlet.
