13.0909_FaithFlower_Logo_BW-300x134Faith and Flower’s ribeye recently made the ThrillList’s top ten new steaks of LA, and they were mentioned in a New York Time’s article about a precocious 15-year-old LA chef, despite being open just 3 weeks.

This BoozeNewser was lucky enough to get a tasting dinner there, and found that ribeye everything it was hyped to be. Deviled Jidori Eggs will be requisite for all my upcoming Hollywood Bowl picnic baskets. Chef Michael Hung gettin’ it done. The steak tartar was so good that someone at our table “accidently” ordered three extra portions. Weird, that.

Head Mixologist Mike Lay kept us cooking with drinks taken from booze books of yore. Check out these drinks and their origins that Faith & Flower serves:

BEN HUR…………………………………….………..………..………..12
Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Lemon, Apricot Marmalade,
Italian Meringue, F&F Aromatic Bitters

With cocktials this cool, you have to cool them correctly.  F&F has three levels of ice — 1.25′ bitty sizes, large cubes and then “cylinders” — all sourced from Ice Bulb.Yup, now when the server comes up and tells you where your veggies were grown, your salt was milled — you can be a dick and ask about where the ice was sourced from. And if you have artisan ice, you can’t just toss it in a Peanuts glass you got from McDonalds.

Peanuts Glasses

F&F sported unique glassware, much of it bought at the Pasadena Flea Market, some from estate sales, and personal items the staff has collected over the years.

Downtown is boomtown, and nothing seems to be making a louder noize with the neighboring hoodies than Faith & Flower.
