Booze News: Nice marketing. Introducing lo-cal cocktails with their 10 kazillion calorie cheesecake? The lowest calorie items on their menu are beer, wine and broccoli. Oh, and a green onion. Are they serious?
The Cheesecake Factory, an upscale casual dining restaurant chain in the US, has launched five new Skinny-Style Cocktails each with 150 calories or less.
The new line of Skinny-Style Cocktails include Cosmopolitan – Skyy Citrus and Cointreau with a splash of Cranberry Juice; Margarita – Gold Tequila, Triple Sec and Lime Juice; Mojito – Cruzan Citrus Rum handcrafted with fresh Mint and Lime on the rocks; Red Sangria – Housemade with Red Wine and fresh Fruit, served on the rocks; and Long Island Ice Tea – Vodka, Rum, Gin, Tequila, Lemon, Lime and a splash of Coke.
The restaurant company said that it has taken its five signature cocktails, and developed five new recipes using a proprietary blend of both sugar substitute and natural sweeteners that make these new cocktails.
Each drink looks identical to its original counterpart and contains the same amount of spirits served with the customary garnish.
The new Skinny-Style Cocktails are now available in all The Cheesecake Factory locations. Skinny-Style Cocktails are priced the same as the original versions.
