imagesMIDDLE-aged drinkers are more likely to be unsteady on their feet than boozing youngsters.

A US study using lab rats also established heavy drinking pensioners are more likely to have falls and forget to take their medicine.

Study co-author Jim Diaz-Granado said: “It’s reasonable to suspect a significant interaction exists between age-related and alcohol-induced effects in the brain.”
