A Kentucky woman told CBS affiliate WKRC that a chronic petty thief, who reportedly stole beer from her backyard refrigerator for years, left an apology note and money after a having a religious revelation.
Dee Samad and her husband, Lee, have a backyard fridge full of beer that’s always been subject to the honor system, WKRC reports. But as it’s said, there’s no honor among thieves.
“…For a while, my husband kept saying, ‘I know I put a case of beer in there and there’s only 5 or 6 cans left,” Dee recounted to the station.
Dee said they eventually decided to put a lock on the fridge, but the lock got to be a hassle and was later removed.
According to the station, the couple figured it was their friends or kids taking the beer and were not too concerned. But Dee knew something was amiss last Monday when she got home and realized her back gate was open.
Upon making her way though her house and to the back door, she realized a note had been placed on the ground outside the house.
