Georgia Distilling Company

After several offers, The Georgia Distilling Company (GDC) has officially signed a deal with Motiv Films of Santa Monica, CA ( for the development of a reality TV program. The program will feature the GDC’s distillery project, the town and county the owners live in, and their fellow citizens, some of whom will star in the show.

MotivFilms has a successful track record of producing reality TV shows, and have expressed excitement about the possibilities the project can present to a national and international viewing audiences. Some of their work on projects includes Ugly Betty, Blade, Breaking Bad, and the newly created “Moving Day” which has just been signed to A&E.  The producer/director who will be working on the show concept has a track record of 12 reality series that have been signed to networks in the last 5 years.  In his words “the South and this part of the country have been underserved by reality television which focuses primarily on New York, California, and New Jersey.”

Motiv Films also has a successful track record of creating television commercials for major companies such as Ford, BMW, Apple, McDonalds, and even handle many ads for our own Georgia Lottery. They also enjoy producing award winning music videos for country artists such as Alan Jackson, Sugarland, Trish Yearwood, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, and Dierks Bentley.

The Founders, Shawn Hall and Bill Mauldin, have rich family histories in moonshining and bootlegging and have now begun the operations of their fathers LEGALLY!
