Ah Summer! Refreshing cocktails to cool you on a lovely summer day…or evening. And, Border Grill has created some rejuvenating libations to go with their delectable food from south of the border.

Six new cocktails looked beautiful and inviting and had some interesting ingredients – my favorite was the hoja santa leaf, which I’d never heard of, and has the tantalizing flavor…well, I’ll just quote Wikipedia: The complex flavor of hoja santa is not so easily described; it has been compared to eucalyptus, licorice, sassafras, anise, nutmeg, mint, tarragon and black pepper. You’ll want it in everything after you’ve tasted it. A real revelation.

See the the Fire/Water/Melon cocktail to your right? That’s a delicious little piece of serrano pepper floating by midst the pisco and watermelon. Sound good?!

Free yourselves from the tyranny of the ubiquitous Margarita, take a look at the cocktail list, check out the other noteworthy ingredients and get thee to Border Grill – downtown or Santa Monica – to try these cocktails out for yourselves!
