Good news! Tam O'Shanter in Los Feliz expanding

Had a conversation today with Brien McNally, Restaurant Manager for Tam O’Shanter’s in Los Feliz. Seems the Tam is updating its bar and putting in 15 new taps, revamping its cocktails and wine list, and knocking out a wall to create a patio where the driveway is now. The Tam is a great spot and the new brew pub will be a very cool addition to the Los Feliz/Silverlake area. They’re in the process of tasting beers, concocting cocktails and rethinking the whole bar area.

Did you know they have wine tastings the first Saturday of the month? Here’s what’s coming up October 2 at 3pm:

Big Reds  $35.00 per person plus tax and gratuity

2008    Shai Cellars, Adome, Santa Ynez Valley

(New winery-fantastic first vintage. The winemaker Shawn Halahmy will be joining us that afternoon)

2004    Foxen Range 30 West, Los Olivos

I’ll have a more extensive conversation with Brien in a couple of weeks, and BoozeNews will follow the renovation with piqued anticipation. Brien, by the way, lived in New Orleans for many years and was a sommelier at Commander’s Palace for about 15 years. So, he’s got the resume. This should be fun.
