1999 Bert Simon Serrig Würtzberg Riesling Auslese

We will be pouring the last bottles of the 1999 Bert Simon.  There is a sad story behind this producer.  He retired several years ago and his children wanted nothing to do with the wine business.  His daughter is a teacher and his son is a business executive and is allergic to just about everything.  In Germany you cannot sell your vineyards to just anyone you might like to.  The law states that unless your property is being inherited by your direct family it must be sold at auction.  So after some 300 years in the family his winery and vineyards were sold off.  Our vendor secured the last 8 cases of the 1999 Auslese and we purchased two of them.  After this tasting, they will likely be all gone.  It is an opportunity to taste something very rare indeed and appreciate the artistry of Bert Simon.

In addition we have our first Bourbon Tasting on Saturday June 11th @ 3:00pm.  Same price per person.  We will be pouring three small batch/single barrel bourbons from a small family producer in Kentucky.  We will pair appetizers with each of the bourbons to highlight the individual characteristics of each.

Reservations are available for both events by phone at 323.644.0228.  And as just a reminder we offer a 10% discount on dinner for anyone who attends our tasting events.
