Sazerac buys 32 brands of White Rock Distilleries

Sazerac Company has entered into an agreement with White Rock Distilleries to buy a number of brands. The deal, which is takes effect from 1 October 2011, includes 32 brands of White Rock.

The brands included in the deal include Tortilla, Desert Island, Kapali, Ryans, Fire Water, Ice 101, Barbarossa, Ice Box, Mt Royal and others. The purchase price was not revealed.

White Rock CEO Paul Coulombe said now with the growth the company is seeing for its Pinnacle Vodka and Calico Jack Rums, it felt that is was time to move its focus and resources to its larger, national brands.

“Our national brands are growing at over 150,000 cases per month and we need to prepare our facilities and resources to handle this growth,” Coulombe added.

White Rock Distilleries is a manufacturer and importer of fine spirits and liqueurs. The company operates a facility in Lewiston, Maine. It has six bottling lines, more than 100 brands and a capacity of five million cases.

The White Rock portfolio includes brands such as Dimitri, Jenkins, Pinnacle, Cabana Bay, Barbarossa Spiced & Silver Rums, Baroca Mojito and Canadian Reserve, among others.

Sazerac has operations in New Orleans, Louisiana; Frankfort, Bardstown, Louisville and Owensboro, Kentucky; Fredericksburg, Virginia; Carson, California; and Baltimore, Maryland.
