But, as the Ontario-based writer and beer lover points out in his new book Brew North: How Canadians Made Beer and Beer Made Canada, no one sat around crying in their draft. “Life on Earth didn’t end when the dinosaurs died out,” Coutts writes in the book. “Even as the beer titans faded, exciting new life forms were rising.”
The final chapter is devoted to the rise of these exciting new forms, better known as microbreweries. Smaller, more adventurous beer companies have committed themselves to supplying us with better-tasting brew made from high-quality ingredients.
