According to the distillery’s customer account manager Ronnie Routledge, the series allowed its team to sample various casks from its small portfolio, choose a cask of Glenglassaugh Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskey and have the bottling done with their own name on the label.
The ten employees at the distillery have indicated the whiskey they would like to have bottled and the company will launch these expressions over the next 2 – 3 years, Packaging Europe reported.
Routledge said this very limited expression offers complexity, tropical fruit in abundance, chocolate and sherry character, balanced with oak spice.
The 49.6% ABV expression, with just 654 bottles, is from a 1976 vintage sherry butt, bottled at 35 years old and is available at an RRP of £299.99.
Glenglassaugh Distillery is also in progress of revamping its new visitor center, which is slated to open before the end of this year in order to happen in concert with the roll-out of its first single malt.
