Has Learn About Wine really been doing this for ten years? It sure felt like a well-oiled machine at Beverly Hills Peninsula Hotel. Once again, Lou Amdur of the lost, lamented Lou’s showed up and I tasted the 2006 Nebbiolo Sisquoc Vineyard from Palmina on his recommendation. One of those circular wines,  no taste overpowering any other taste so that it sits perfectly on the palate.

Both Alma Rosa and Sanford made the trek — but fortunately no fisticuffs.  Still a big fan of Sanford’s 2010 Pinot Noir. Has those distinictive notes of Pinot without being obvious about it. Speaking of a Pinot that was really different and yummy — Stasis 2010 was amazing. They also confirmed their good taste by being fans of Paso’s Jack Creek.  And the Stasis guys were pouring a bonus 2010 Amor Fati Grenache from their MurMur Vineyard that warrants further attention.

Other finds:  Grassini’s 2010 Articondo Red Blend, and Clos Pepe Vineyard’s 2010 Axis Mundi Grenache/Syrah SYV.
